I see her sometimes
I see her sometimes.
Those first few months I didn’t know her at all, and I was more than content to forget her for as long as needed to be immersed in all of you.
I see her
When I listen to my fave old songs.
When I take a long bath.
When I catch up with girlfriends.
When I watch a cheesy romcom,
or anything to do with dance.
When I joke with my husband - also known as daddy.
When I hold his hand and realise he too is my love.
All the little things that were so easy, so simple,
That I loved,
That I probably took for granted knowing I could do whenever I felt necessary prior to meeting you.
I still see her every now and then,
These days more than
the early, newborn haze.
And I welcome her with open arms
Into this new realm, this new, incredible & everlasting chapter.
At first they felt like 2 completely different people,
Disjointed.
Seperate.
Strangers.
Now, We’ve merged together,
her and I,
reminiscing the old,
Indulging in the loved up present,
and excited for the future.
The rebirth of her, me, wife now mother
and I’m loving getting to know her.
